PREPARE FOR THE PROCESS
Start with the power source, working attachment and process-specific supplies. Follow the complete instructions before making connections.
Read the machine’s instructions and prepare suitable eye, skin and hearing protection in a ventilated work area.
Confirm a grounded 110V or 220V electrical supply and a circuit suitable for the machine and task.
Match the torch or electrode holder, consumables and connections to the selected process.
Secure the workpiece, check the work connection and review the procedure before starting.
Prepare the matching plasma torch and consumables and an external compressed-air supply. Follow the machine’s air and electrical requirements.
Prepare the correct TIG torch, consumables and suitable shielding-gas supply. The plasma-cutting air supply is not a substitute for TIG shielding gas.
Prepare a suitable stick electrode, electrode holder and work clamp. Use the electrode and electrical setup specified for the job.
A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
CT-418 is a multi-process welding and cutting machine. It combines plasma cutting, TIG welding and stick welding; choose the correct process and equipment for your task.
No. Plasma cutting, TIG welding and stick welding use different working attachments and consumables. Match the torch or holder to the selected process.
Compressed air is used for plasma cutting. TIG welding uses a suitable shielding-gas setup, while stick welding uses a matching electrode. Do not substitute a different gas or supply without the correct instructions.
Yes. This model supports 110V/220V input. The outlet, grounding and circuit must be appropriate for the machine. Have electrical installation questions checked by a qualified electrician.
